The silk surface reduces mechanical friction on the hair shaft by minimizing cuticle abrasion during fastening and removal, reducing breakage at the point of contact compared to elastic or cotton alternatives. Each scrunchie is finished with a concealed elastic core and flat-lock seaming to eliminate pressure points.
